Key Training Points

Schools will live within the system as their own Node at a top heirachical.  This means that groups can be populated across schools and shared.  Each school has its own administrative rights over its own node on the system.

1.  Based on a heirachical structure of Nodes.  The nodes are then populated with users and user accounts.  SIMS are used to populate the system.

2.  Rooms are areas where resources and structures are placed.  SIMS also populates and creates imported rooms based on classes.  This means that timetabled groups are populated into their own room as a Fronter node.

3.  Corridors are areas where rooms are organised and stored.

4.  MIS Imports include, all staffs, all students groups, class groups, registration groups and year groups.

5.  Group nodes are used for policy settings.

  • Who has the rights to create rooms?  Do we want staff to be able to create rooms?  Do we want to set up room creators?
  • Students with their unique generated password, changing passwords and forgetting passwords?

6.  A corridor has to be created before a room is created off it.  Rooms cannot be created off groups.
